The OWAWeekends will happen every first weekend of the month from June to September. If you want to rent a board please contact us at info@owalgarve.com
Saturday we’ll shred the trails we all know and love right next to the OWARace track, the place where the Best European Trail Rider is chosen every year. Get yourself ready to take your trail riding to the next level. This day will be very focused on teaching you all you need to know to conquer the most technical trails you can think of! Then if the conditions allow it we can also do a sunset beach ride as well!
Sunday we’ll get a transport to the heart of the Algarve, to a place called “Fonte Benémola”, make sure you bring a small backpack to carry the charger and a water. From there we’ll ride through a 50km offroad path where the majority is a forest trail alongside the river (most likely dry at the time) which ends precisely right next to the OWARace track, so at the end of the day we’ll ride back to where we started. This day will be intense and mostly focused on enjoying nature and taking some time to disconnect from your day-to-day life, and you’ll also get a few chances to show off what you learned the day before!**
* If you have a group of at least 6 riders interested in a private OWAWeekend on a different date please make the request to info@owalgarve.com
** While a few parts of this trail will be incredibly gnarly and might seem impossible, we guarantee that they are all in fact possible to do! The only exceptions being two very small sections where we have to cross the river and while not gnarly at all, it’s too rocky to ride. In total, during the whole day, we’ll have to carry our board only here for a minimum of 1’18’’.

These weekends will be focused exclusively on trails, there’s gonna be very little street riding so get your dirty shoes ready!
Since there’ll be very limited spots on each OWAW, the trail clinics will be more personalized to your needs, you’ll have the trail experts riding next to you all day long!

A river-side forest trail in the heart of the Algarve that passes by the ruins of an 11th-century castle, and ends right where we left in the morning, at the OWARace Track.

Get ready for the OWAKings series where you’ll participate in Onewheel challenges to win some prizes!

Both lunches on Saturday and Sunday are included. While our boards are charging it’s time for us to do the same.

The accommodation is NOT INCLUDED on the ticket, but there are a lot of options in the area very close to the event.

Even though trails are what we love, we can’t deny night city riding is awesome as well. Saturday is the time to explore one of the two cities close to the OWARace track.
Night ride is optional.
The Meeting Point
Event Schedule
The schedule is set up in a way that you can arrive Saturday morning, leave Sunday night and not miss out on anything!*

If you want to join us on Friday before the event starts, rest assured we’re definitely going on some rides immediately 🤙

This day will be spent around the OWARace track.
Throughout the day we’ll be riding on the track itself where we’ll have some Onewheel games to play and also shred the trails right next to the track.
Get ready to take your trail riding to the next level with the technical trail clinic in the afternoon!
There will also be the option to go for a night ride in the city for those who want to.

Prepare yourself to explore! On Sunday we’ll take you to shred an awesome river-side forest trail in the heart of the Algarve. Even though the river will most likely be dry, we’ll explore the trail that goes alongside it and ends precisely right next to the OWARace track.*
The full path is approximately 50km almost always on trails, and we even ride by the ruins of the Paderne Castle built around 1000 years ago!
On this day we also have the OWAKings series! Throughout the path we will have a few challenges for everyone to do. Win any of these challenges to get some prizes.

*The August OWAWeekend might have slight changes in the schedule depending on the weather (if it’s too hot >40º).

Night Ride
Saturday night it’s time to relax and have fun! There will be an optional city ride through Albufeira or Vilamoura.
You can always go explore the nightlife as well!

River-side Forest Trail
Sunday it’s time to explore a fantastic river-side forest trail in the heart of the Algarve where we’ll show why this is the Land of the Trails!
Accommodations
As mentioned before it’s not included on the OWAW ticket but here’s a few options close to the event
AP Victoria Sports & Beach Hotel
A great hotel and the perfect option for those who want to come a few days before or stay a few days after the event.
The closest place to the meeting point. You see those trees at the bottom left of the photo, yeah that’s part of the track where we meet.
Aldeia da Falésia
An area with a lot of small houses, this is perfect for groups and for those who don’t want to spend that much on accommodation.
It’s just 300mt from the meeting point and definitely the cheapest option around!
Epic Sana Algarve Hotel
The most luxurious place around, perfect for someone who’s coming with the family to enjoy much more than just the Onewheel event.
And also just 300mt away from the meeting point it’s a great option to stay and relax a few days after one of the OWAWeekends.
Safety & Important Info

→ Helmets and wrist guards are mandatory!
→ All participants must have their own Chargers for Onewheel and mobile phones!
→ This event will be held outdoors so we’re subject to weather conditions. Although rain is unlikely, it is something that can happen and is impossible to control! The event will not be canceled due to bad weather, and it is the responsibility of each participant who registers for the event for any damage caused to their own Onewheel by rain or any other type of occurrence!
→ Any lack of respect towards the organizer, the staff, any other participant, or any person outside the event will result in immediate expulsion!
→ Any participant who puts himself or another person in danger will be immediately expelled from the event!
→ All participants must assume any damage caused to their own Onewheel!

Again, helmets and wrist guards are required!
It is recommended that all participants have the following materials:
→ Body armor, knee and elbow pads
→ Fender
→ Flashlight*
→ Reflective Vest*
→ Sunscreen
→ Beach Shorts/Bikini
*In case of a night group ride

If you are flying here, please make sure that you arrive on Saturday morning, before 12pm at the latest, and leave on Sunday night, 9pm at the earliest!

These trails are no joke we promise you that!
PLEASE keep in mind your experience level, if you join us on these trails you might need to carry your board several times.
DO NOT take unecessary risk while riding, if that section looks gnarly and dangerous it’s because it is!
If in doubt, walk it out!
